Schreier is one of the founders of Artyarns as well as a published designer. The luxurious hand-painted fibers featured in her unique patterns and designs are developed by Iris and are available through her company Artyarns. She develops new yarns specifically to support designs for hand knitting and crochet.

Iris’s books, Reversible Knits (2009), Lacy Little Knits (2007), Modular Knits (2005), and Exquisite Little Knits (2004), are available at bookstores and through yarn shops.

She works with many popular designers to develop new patterns for Artyarns such as Nicky Epstein, Annie Modesitt, Sharon Sorken, and Laura Zukaite.
