The openwork pattern should read:

Rows 1-6: K across

Row 7: k1, (ssk‹wrapping yarn around needle twice to create elongated stitch)x 30 times across, k2 Row 8: k2, [yo, k1, dropping extra wrap to create elongated stitch]x 30 times across, k1 Rows 9-24: Repeat Rows 1-8 two more times

Rows 25-30: Repeat Rows 1-6
