So my inspiration this month was the Sand to Snow National Monument.
I am so in love with this color, and the designs that have been created for it. In fact, I decided to make something for myself after I already designed and knitted the 1-skein Transitions Shawl.
There are lots of photos and details on the garments for this colorway here: https://www.artyarns.com/inspirations/ as well as a list of stores where you can purchase this yarn.
So now on to Brioche.
Our knitalong is going strong…. there are so many very active participants. The options are small shawl with 2 skeins of Beaded Silk and Sequins (200 yards) and a large shawl with 2 skeins of Merino Cloud or equivalent Artyarns yarn (800 yards). I loved the small shawl I made with Beaded Silk and Sequins, and thought it would be lovely as the collar of a jacket or vest. My original shawl used 1 skein of Beaded Silk and Sequins in color 525 Silver and 1 skein in color 2368 Silver. I used Merino Cloud in color 2368 as an add-on, and will be writing the pattern, making it available to every knitalong participant who completes the small shawl.
Here are some photos….
Just sign up for our knitalong, complete the small shawl using 2 skeins of Beaded Silk and Sequins, and you’ll receive instructions to add on the Merino Cloud and turn it into a one-size fits all vest (with 1 skein of Merino Cloud) or jacket with long sleeves (with 2 skeins of Merino Cloud). I suggest color-coordinating the Merino Cloud so it is the solid color in your piece.

Hi Iris, I am at the Garter Ending and tried it on. It is still small unblocked but plenty to wrap around to the front. Should I work all the way to bind off?
I love the idea of a beaded collar and want to make this a vest.
Thanks,
Suzi

Yes I would like to make the vest. I am at the Garter ending. Should I bind off or are the stitches picked up for the vest?
Thanks,
Suzi
Iris Schreier says
yes better to bind it off.

I would love to make the vest, but have not made the shawl. Can I somehow join in, but not with yarn containing beads and sequins….I am not a glitzy person and would not ever have use for anything with sequins and sparkle.
Iris says
Yes, you can join in with any Artyarns yarn as long as you have sufficient yardage.
110 yards of any 2 contrasting colors for Small Shawl
minimum 437 yards of one color for Vest add-on
